> The Sangharama Shrine was originally located to the left of the Dharma Hall. After it fell into ruin, it was relocated to the eastern corridor, on the former site of the Arhat Hall. Originally, in the Yuan dynasty, the founding abbot Miao'en dreamed one night of five hundred monks seeking a place to practice. At dawn, word arrived that the Arhat Hall at Nanshan Temple in Wulin had been destroyed by fire, so he built this hall. It had thirty bays in all, with an image of Guanyin Bodhisattva enshrined in the center and the five hundred arhats arranged along the sides. In the twenty-sixth year of the Hongwu era, the monk Hui Ming repaired it. During the Zhengde era, the monk Fang Luan rebuilt it. It later fell into ruin and the timber was taken away by local people. None of the original statues survive; only the front cloister still stands. The central section was then converted into the Sangharama Shrine, with monks' quarters on the left and a private school still on the right. In the twenty-third year of the Wanli era, lay donors led the community to redeem the property.
