### 第二十七代際郁湛青禪師

仙遊林氏，傳靡瑕和尚心印。乾隆丁丑繼席黃檗。開戒上堂：「向上一着，人人本具；匡宗一念，個個不無。所以山僧住高田，木食草衣，自遣居山逸興。今住黃檗，匡徒領眾，少酬出世平懷。若以提持箇事，大似行人負重担，將過獨木橋，恐教失脚。既得橋已過矣，自有一路坦平，東西南北任人所之。及乎到家之時，便稱慶快。汝諸人昨日沙彌戒已受，今朝又進比邱，亦如行道之人從遠地歸，將隣家舍矣。但山僧尚有一寶未然舉似，更待八日明星現時，對人天眾前呈似諸人。然知此事且置，只知竿頭進步一句作麼生道？他家自有通霄路，不向如來行處行。」

> Xianyou of the Lin clan received the mind-seal of Master Moxia. In the year Dingchou of the Qianlong reign, he succeeded to the abbacy of Huangbo Monastery. During the ordination ceremony, he ascended the teaching seat and said: "The ultimate truth is inherently present in everyone; the intention to uphold the Dharma is possessed by each and every one. Therefore, when I resided at Gaotian, I lived on wild plants and wore simple robes, finding contentment in the solitude of the mountains. Now that I dwell at Huangbo, guiding disciples and leading the assembly, I fulfill a small part of my aspiration to benefit the world. As for carrying out this great matter, it is like a traveler bearing a heavy load while crossing a single-plank bridge—one misstep could lead to a fall. Yet once the bridge is crossed, a smooth and open path lies ahead, allowing one to travel freely in all directions. And when one finally arrives home, there is great joy and celebration. All of you have already received the novice precepts yesterday, and today you advance to become fully ordained monks. This is like a traveler returning from a distant land, now approaching the neighborhood of home. However, I still have one treasure I have yet to reveal. I will wait until the eighth day, when the morning star appears, to present it before the assembly of humans and celestial beings. But for now, let us set that aside. How shall we speak of taking one step further at the top of the pole? Others have their own path to the heavens—they do not tread where the Tathagata has walked."
