The *Chronological Biography of Dhyana Master Dahui Pujue* was compiled by the Song dynasty monk Zuyong, with a preface by Zhang Lun and a postscript by Zongyan. This work provides a detailed account of the life, spiritual journey, teaching activities, and interactions with scholar-officials of the eminent Southern Song Linji Chan master Dahui Zonggao. As a significant Buddhist biographical text, it serves not only as a primary source for studying Dahui Zonggao's thought, the development of Chan Buddhism in the Song dynasty, and the historical interplay between Confucianism and Buddhism, but also holds an important place in Buddhist historical literature. Due to its extensive records of Chan dialogues and essential teachings on practice, it has profoundly influenced later Chan studies.
