來書有靜室焚香一坐，思敲門瓦子，欲從實地上一腳登開，四大又無住足，從虛無裏一拳打破，虛空亦難粉碎，似墮黑夜商量語也。又云：不方不圓，非聖非凡，鬧處自靜，忙中有閒，生滅俱無，思議徒然，若是打開，何佛何仙？似落知解相似語也。須知此事不患不聰明，唯患太聰明。門下欲了明者事，是必從實信、實志、實行上看破一回，放下一回，親見一回，那時腳跟點地，粉碎虛空，纔有說話分。

You also speak of "neither square nor round, neither saint nor ordinary; naturally still in noise, at ease in busyness; beyond arising and ceasing, beyond thought and discussion — if this is opened, what need of Buddhas or immortals?" This sounds like falling into intellectual understanding. You must know: this matter is not about lacking cleverness, but about having too much of it. If you wish to truly understand, you must see through it once, let go once, and personally witness it once — through genuine faith, genuine resolve, and genuine practice. Only then will your feet touch solid ground, only then can void be shattered, only then will you have anything worth saying.
