### 住龍華復孝廉史汝諧啟

> Minister Shi Ru Xie of Longhua

受靈山之囑，三才賴以匡扶；秉東魯之規，兩儀藉以位育。恭惟居士，胸懷日月，掌握權衡，洞悟心宗，透明理學。建法幢於越地，四海欽聞；護祖印於戒珠，六合仰望。山野德涼學淺，抱病巖阿，翰墨飛神，何敢違拒？謹此奉復，惟祈鑒諒。不悉。

> Entrusted by the sacred assembly at Vulture Peak, the three powers rely on this for support; upholding the principles of the Eastern Land, the two forces are thereby brought into balance. Respectfully, the lay practitioner, whose mind embraces sun and moon, holds the scales of wisdom, has deeply awakened to the essence of mind, and clearly penetrates the principles of truth. Establishing the banner of Dharma in the Yue region, revered by all under heaven; guarding the Patriarch's seal at the Precious Pearl, looked up to by all directions. This mountain hermit, lacking in virtue and shallow in learning, lies ill in the craggy retreat, yet how dare I refuse when words fly from your brush? Thus, I humbly reply, only hoping for your understanding. Not fully expressed.
