### 復越州鄉紳大司馬王峨雲請回顯聖寺啟

> Returning to Xiansheng Temple at the Invitation of Wang Eyun, Grand Minister from Yuezhou

關山迢隔，久失晤言。翰墨南頒，少舒宿悃。細詢起居之秩秩，緬惟外護之惓惓。垂念雲門移章，貢水久虛，法席大檀，猶且寒心。切感師恩病朽，詎能坐視？但甫遷百丈，未及經旬，遽爾遠歸，奚逃輿議？欲振先師之道法，可延同社之尊耆。掃塔還山，備陳衷曲，統希炤入，不禁神馳。

> Across mountains and rivers, we have long been out of touch. Your letter from the south brings some relief to my long-held concerns. I have carefully noted the steady rhythm of your daily life and recall with deep gratitude your devoted care as a guardian of the Dharma. You have reminded me that the Yunmen lineage is coming to a new chapter, and that the teachings at Gong River have long been neglected. Even the great benefactors who support the Dharma seat feel disheartened. I am deeply moved by your concern for this old and ailing monk—how could I simply sit by and watch? But I have only just moved to Baizhang and not yet been here a full ten days. If I were to leave and return so soon, how could I escape public criticism? To revive the Dharma of our late master, we might invite respected elders from the same community to take up the task. I will return to the mountain to pay respects at the temple and share fully my thoughts. I hope you will understand, and my heart longs to meet you in person.
