> 2\. What is Not Included

一

> One

諸法而〔共〕眼處——〔共〕觸處——〔共〕眼界——〔共〕觸界，所攝於蘊之攝，於處之攝非攝，界之攝非攝，此等之諸法是非攝於幾何之蘊、處、界耶？此等之諸法者非攝於四蘊、二處、八界。

> These phenomena—together with the eye base, together with the contact base, together with the eye element, together with the contact element—are included in the aggregates, but are not included in the sense bases, nor are they included in the elements. How many aggregates, sense bases, and elements are these phenomena not included in? These phenomena are not included in four aggregates, two sense bases, and eight elements.

> Two

諸法而〔共〕眼識界——耳識界——鼻識界——舌識界——身識界——意界——意識界〔共〕所攝於蘊與處攝，非攝於界攝，此等之諸法是……非攝於四蘊、十一處、十二界。

> All phenomena that are included together with the eye-consciousness realm, ear-consciousness realm, nose-consciousness realm, tongue-consciousness realm, body-consciousness realm, mind realm, and mind-consciousness realm—these phenomena are included within the aggregates and sense bases, but are not included within the element categories. These phenomena... are not included within the four aggregates, eleven sense bases, or twelve elements.

諸法而〔共〕眼根——耳根——鼻根——舌根——身根——女根——男根〔共〕所攝於蘊之攝，非攝於處攝與界攝，此等之諸法是……非攝於四蘊、二處、八界。

> All phenomena that are associated with the eye faculty, the ear faculty, the nose faculty, the tongue faculty, the body faculty, the female faculty, and the male faculty—these phenomena are included within the aggregates, but not included within the sense-spheres or the elements. These phenomena... are not included within the four aggregates, the two sense-spheres, or the eight elements.

> Four

諸法而〔共〕無想有——〔共〕一蘊有，所攝於蘊攝，非攝於處攝，非攝於界，此等之諸是……非攝四蘊、三處、九界。

> All phenomena are without thought—they have a single aggregate. They are included within the aggregates, not within the sense-spheres, and not within the elements. These are... not included within the four aggregates, three sense-spheres, and nine elements.

> Five

諸法而〔共〕悲——有見有對法〔共〕所攝於蘊攝，非攝於處攝，非攝於界攝，此等之諸法是……非攝四蘊、二處、八界。

> All phenomena share the characteristic of suffering. Those phenomena that are visible and obstructive are included within the aggregates, but are not included within the sense bases, nor are they included within the elements. These phenomena... are not included within the four aggregates, the two sense bases, or the eight elements.

> Six

諸法〔共〕無見有對法，所攝於蘊攝，非攝於處攝，非攝於界攝，此等之諸法是……非攝於四蘊、十處、十六界。

> All phenomena that are invisible yet have tangible presence are included within the aggregates, but not within the sense bases, nor within the elements. These phenomena are... not included within the four aggregates, ten sense bases, or sixteen elements.

> Seven

諸法而〔共〕有見法〔共〕所攝於蘊攝，攝於處攝與界攝，此等之諸法是……非攝於四蘊、二處、八界。

> All phenomena that are seen together, included together, are included within the aggregates, included within the sense bases, and included within the elements. These phenomena... are not included within the four aggregates, two sense bases, or eight elements.

> Eight

諸法而〔共〕有對法——所造性法〔共〕所攝於蘊攝，非攝於處攝非攝於界攝，此等之諸法是非攝幾何之蘊、處、界耶？此等之諸是非攝於四蘊、十一處、十七界。

> All conditioned phenomena that have corresponding objects—these are included within the aggregates and are not included within the sense bases or elements. How many aggregates, sense bases, and elements do these phenomena not belong to? They are not included within four aggregates, eleven sense bases, and seventeen elements.
