妙哉！妙哉！譬如扶起倒者，揭露覆者，教迷者道路，暗中提舉燈火，令有眼者見色。世尊如此以種種方便顯示教法，我于此處歸依世尊、法及比丘眾。世尊！容我從今起至命終止歸依為優婆塞，願世尊與比丘眾俱于明日受我供食。」世尊默然受請。

> Wonderful! Wonderful! It is like lifting up one who has fallen, revealing what is hidden, showing the path to one who is lost, or bringing a lamp into the darkness so that those with eyes may see. In the same way, the World-Honored One has revealed the teaching through countless skillful means. Here and now, I take refuge in the World-Honored One, the Dharma, and the community of monks. World-Honored One, from this day forward until the end of my life, let me take refuge as a lay follower. May the World-Honored One and the community of monks accept my offering of a meal tomorrow. The World-Honored One accepted the invitation in silence.
