### 四四（二、二、七）

我聞應供已說，世尊說此：「諸比丘！此等有二涅槃。何之為二？為有餘依涅槃界及無餘依涅槃界。諸比丘！有餘依涅槃界為何？諸比丘！於此處應供之比丘已盡漏，住於〔梵行〕，辨應作之事，捨負重擔，證得自義，以盡有結，依正智而解脫。彼五根安立，無傷彼事，故經驗喜與不喜，能感樂與苦。彼為滅貪、滅瞋、滅癡者，諸比丘！說彼為有餘依涅槃界。然，諸比丘！無餘依涅槃界為何？諸比丘！於此應供之比丘已盡漏，住於〔梵行〕，應作已辦，捨負重擔，證得自義，以盡有結，依正智而解脫。諸比丘！然於此生所覺知者已為無喜悅而清涼，諸比丘！說彼為無餘依涅槃。諸比丘！此為二涅槃界。」世尊說此義，此處如是說：

> Thus I have heard: The Worthy One said, "Monks, there are these two kinds of Nibbana. What are the two? The Nibbana element with residue remaining, and the Nibbana element without residue remaining. "Monks, what is the Nibbana element with residue remaining? Here, a monk who is worthy, has destroyed the mental defilements, lives the holy life, done what needs to be done, laid down the burden, attained the true goal, utterly destroyed the shackles of continued existence, and is liberated through right understanding. His five sense faculties remain intact, and since they are unharmed, he experiences what is agreeable and disagreeable, feels pleasure and pain. He is one who has ended passion, ended aversion, ended delusion. Monks, this is called the Nibbana element with residue remaining. "And what, monks, is the Nibbana element without residue remaining? Here, a monk who is worthy, has destroyed the mental defilements, lives the holy life, done what needs to be done, laid down the burden, attained the true goal, utterly destroyed the shackles of continued existence, and is liberated through right understanding. Monks, all that is sensed will, without delight, become cool right here. Monks, this is called the Nibbana element without residue remaining. "Monks, these are the two Nibbana elements." The Blessed One spoke this meaning, and here it is said:

「此等二種涅槃界 具眼者依無依明初界導者現法有 滅盡〔愛等〕有餘依他滅未來一切有 成為臨終無餘依知此無為之道者 盡導有者心解脫逮達法味悅滅者 彼已捨此一切見」

我聞世尊說此義。
