時，摩羅子盧夷以多量菜與堅餅，親手供養佛為上首比丘眾，令飽滿至示謝。見世尊洗手與鉢，坐于一面。坐于一面已，世尊為摩羅子盧夷說法、教示……使之慶喜，即從座起離去。時，世尊依此因緣說法，告比丘等曰：「諸比丘！許用一切菜及堅餅。」

> At that time, the Malla son Ruiyi personally offered a large quantity of vegetables and hard cakes to the Buddha and the community of monks led by him, filling them until they expressed their gratitude. Seeing the World-Honored One wash his hands and bowl, he sat to one side. After sitting to one side, the World-Honored One taught, instructed, and delighted the Malla son Ruiyi with a discourse on the Dharma, after which he rose from his seat and departed. Then, the World-Honored One, based on this occasion, gave a teaching to the monks, saying: "Monks, it is permitted to accept all kinds of vegetables and hard cakes."
