The Fundamental Teachings of the Sarvāstivāda Vinaya: A Personal Compendium, compiled and organized by Master Hongyi during the Republican period of China. This scripture originates from the Vinaya Piṭaka of the Indian Sarvāstivāda school and serves as a crucial text on Buddhist precepts. Master Hongyi, having deeply studied the Vinaya, extracted its core precepts and essential principles of practice, compiling them into this concise manual. Its contents encompass the daily conduct norms for bhikkhus, the procedural rules for monastic assemblies, and rituals of confession, systematically expounding the Buddhist disciplinary system. This compendium holds a revered position within Chinese Buddhism, providing invaluable documentation for the study of sectarian Buddhist precepts and the saṅgha system. It also played a significant role in the revival of Vinaya studies in modern times, exerting a profound influence on the transmission and practice of Buddhist discipline.

Vinaya of the Mūlasarvāstivāda: Personal Practice Manuscript - General Remarks
