> Second.

如是我聞。爾時，世尊住舍衛城祇陀林給孤獨園。尊者舍利弗以種種方便，法語教示、激勵、鼓舞被認為尚為有學之尊者羅婆那跋提使之喜悅。世尊見尊者舍利弗以種種方便，法語教示、激勵、鼓舞被認為尚為有學之尊者羅婆那跋提使之喜悅。世尊知此已，彼時唱此優陀那：

> Thus have I heard. At that time, the Blessed One was dwelling in Sāvatthī, in Jeta's Grove, Anāthapiṇḍika's monastery. The venerable Shariputra, through various skillful means, instructed, encouraged, inspired, and delighted the venerable Ravaṇabhadda, who was considered to be still in training. The Blessed One saw Shariputra thus instructing, encouraging, inspiring, and delighting the venerable Ravaṇabhadda. Having understood this, at that moment he uttered this inspired utterance:

「彼斷輪迴入無欲，乾涸瀑河不再流，能斷輪迴無再轉，只此方為苦之終。」

> "The one who cuts off the cycle of birth and death, entering desirelessness, dries up the torrent of craving so it no longer flows. Having severed the cycle, there is no further turning; this alone is the end of suffering."
