五 吉祥經
Chapter 5: Discourse on Blessings
如是我聞。爾時世尊住舍衛城祇樹給孤獨園，其時，一甚美之神，深夜光輝全祇樹園而近至佛所。至已向佛問訊，立於一隅。立一隅彼神以如是之偈白佛言：
Thus have I heard. At one time, the Blessed One was staying at the Jeta Grove, Anathapindika’s park in Savatthi. When the night was far gone, a certain deva of surpassing beauty illuminated the entire Jeta Grove and approached the Blessed One. Drawing near, she paid homage to him and stood at one side. Standing thus, she addressed the Blessed One in verse:

One
多神與眾人，祈求最上福，思惟於吉祥，請佛示說最吉祥。
Many gods and people, seeking the highest blessings, Have pondered on what is truly auspicious. Please, Buddha, teach us the supreme good fortune.
二
Second.
〔佛言：〕「遠避愚癡者，交往賢聖人，敬應尊敬者，此為最吉祥。
三
住於適當所，過去積善業，己持正誓願，此為最吉祥。
四
廣學長技藝，善學諸律儀，能語彼言辭，此為最吉祥。
五
善能事父母，養護己妻子，安住於生業，此為最吉祥。
六
淨行行布施，愛護諸親族，生業無非難，此為最吉祥。
七
遠離諸惡趣，緊慎勿飲酒，於法無放逸，此為最吉祥。
八
虔敬而自遜，滿足且知恩，隨時聞正法，此為最吉祥。
九
謙恭有忍辱，詣會於沙門，隨時為法談，此為最吉祥。
一〇
修道行梵行，〔審實〕見聖諦，實證於涅槃，此為最吉祥。
一一
雖依世間法，其心不動搖，安穩無憂垢，此為最吉祥。
一二
能為如此者，何處無不勝，到處皆多幸，彼等最吉祥。」
