> Six Directions Leveled

秋雲幕幕整秋衲，秋雨泠泠打山蕨，活計吾家正是時，忽頒佳什手忙接，珠玉言言如走盤，率兮坦兮如何說？古人昔日語措大，覓巧不得胡為拙，一念不生體自彰，玲瓏八面休剞厥。鳶飛魚躍天地間，顯非顯兮密非密，寥寥吾道絕古今，六月炎炎千里雪。

> Autumn clouds gather, draping my autumn robe, Autumn rain falls cold on mountain ferns. This is the very moment of our family’s livelihood— Suddenly, your fine verses arrive, and I receive them in haste. Words like pearls and jade roll smoothly as a plate, So direct, so open—how can one speak of them? The ancients once said to the scholar: “If you seek cleverness and fail, why act clumsy?” When not a single thought arises, the essence reveals itself, Luminous on all eight sides—no need to carve or chisel. Kites soar, fish leap between heaven and earth, What is manifest is not manifest, what is hidden is not hidden. Vast and silent, our Way transcends past and present— In the sweltering heat of June, a thousand miles of snow.
