Heshan Chan Master's Collection of Holding the Broom

In the summer of the yihai year, on the road at Mount Wu

After the boat is set loose from the shoal's edge, the wild scenery faces the vast, darkening expanse. Along the winding bank a marsh stream flows out, a lone sail hangs heavy with rain. Weary and declining, I grieve for this day; climbing and gazing, I remember those years. What is that fellow in straw cloak and hat? His singing drifts into the evening mist.
