### 示深居禪人

> Instructions for the Deep-Dwelling Practitioner

人有南北，佛性本同，只要腳跟穩當，不被境風所鼓，日益日損，漸有成器。恐念頭不真，隨邪逐惡，朝三暮四，唐喪光陰，虛溷日子，縱有行如普賢、功超彌勒，終是忘家浪子。

> People may come from the north or the south, but the Buddha-nature is fundamentally the same. As long as one stands firm, unmoved by the winds of circumstance, and gradually lets go of excess while building virtue, one will slowly come to fulfillment. But if the mind is not sincere, chasing after falsehood and evil, shifting like a weathervane, wasting time and idling away the days—then even if one's conduct matched that of Samantabhadra or one's merits surpassed Maitreya's, in the end one would still be a wanderer who has forgotten their true home.
