往有高僧呼龍曰汝能見身乎龍即見一頭如山僧曰汝能大却不能小能入吾鉢中乎龍即入鉢中僧曰汝能出乎龍百伎莫能出僧因與之說法開其毒惡龍請降以聽法今封順濟龍王是也即本山伽藍之一

> Once there was a great monk who called out to a dragon, saying, "Can you show yourself?" The dragon then revealed a head as massive as a mountain. The monk said, "You can grow large, but can you shrink? Can you fit into my bowl?" The dragon then shrank and entered the bowl. The monk asked, "Can you get out?" The dragon tried every trick but could not escape. The monk then taught the Dharma to the dragon, opening its mind and dispelling its malice. The dragon begged to surrender and listen to the teachings. Today, it is honored as the Dragon King of Smooth Passage, and is one of the guardian deities of this mountain temple.
