> Kindling the Fire for the Traveler on the Path

師舉火炬云：「行首行首，出家未久，妄念忽生，東奔西走。老僧助汝一把火，燒得汝氣沖牛斗。」喝一喝。

> The master raised a torch and said: "Practitioner, practitioner, though you have not been long in monastic life, sudden wandering thoughts arise, sending you running east and west. This old monk will help you with a blaze—burning away all that restlessness until it surges beyond the heavens." Then he gave a shout.
