### 重刻諸經日誦序

> Preface to the Re-engraved Daily Recitation of Sutras

嘉禾項君，向以坊本百八般經入雲棲，謂是經僧尼道俗晨夕所持誦，而真偽交雜，識者誚焉。幸為我一甄別之，以式初學。予按其本，勾抹詮次，去偽而存真。復披括經律及古今人著作，取其最切近者一二增益之。甫就槁，未較也，以致項君。項君隨付剞劂，而同邑許君又仍其刻刻焉。予近閱一過，見其錯誤頗眾，乃重加訂正，別為方冊，梓而置之雲棲山中，庶善本流布，終成二君之美。其覽前之二刻者，當以是為左券云。

> A man named Xiang from Jiaren once brought a popular edition of the One Hundred and Eight Sutras to Cloud Perch Monastery. He said, “These are the chants that monastics and laypeople recite morning and evening, but genuine and fake texts are mixed together, and discerning people sneer at it. Would you kindly help me distinguish between them, so that beginners may have a proper guide?” I examined his edition, corrected and rearranged the text, removing the false and keeping the true. I also searched through the sutras, precepts, and the works of ancient and modern authors, selecting a few items that were most relevant and adding them in. As soon as my draft was done, not yet proofread, I gave it to Xiang. He immediately had it carved into printing blocks. Another man, Xu from the same county, then used those same blocks to print his own edition. Recently I looked through it again and found many errors. So I revised it thoroughly, made a new edition in booklet form, and had it printed and placed at Cloud Perch Monastery. Hopefully this good version will circulate widely and fulfill the good intentions of both gentlemen. Those who consult the earlier two editions should regard this one as the reliable standard.

時萬歷二十八年歲次庚子十月既望雲棲袾宏識
