### ○華嚴行願品章

> Chapter on the Vows and Practices of the Avatamsaka Sutra

一者、禮敬諸佛；二者、稱讚如來；三者、廣修供養；四者、懺悔業障；五者、隨喜功德；六者、請轉法輪；七者、請佛住世；八者、常隨佛學；九者、恒順眾生；十者、普皆迴向。

> First, pay respect to all Buddhas. Second, praise the Tathagatas. Third, make abundant offerings. Fourth, repent of karmic obstacles. Fifth, rejoice in the merit of others. Sixth, request the turning of the Dharma wheel. Seventh, request the Buddhas to remain in the world. Eighth, always follow the Buddha's teachings. Ninth, constantly accord with sentient beings. Tenth, universally dedicate all merit.

願我臨欲命終時， 盡除一切諸障礙，面見彼佛阿彌陀， 即得往生安樂剎。我既往生彼國已， 現前成就此大願，一切圓滿盡無餘， 利樂一切眾生界。彼佛眾會咸清淨， 我時於勝蓮華生，親睹如來無量光， 現前授我菩提記。蒙彼如來授記已， 化身無數百俱胝，智力廣大遍十方， 普利一切眾生界，乃至虛空世界盡， 眾生及業煩惱盡，如是一切無盡時， 我願究竟恒無盡。我此普賢殊勝行， 無邊勝福皆迴向，普願沉溺諸眾生， 速往無量光佛剎。

> When the time comes for my life to end, may all obstacles be completely cleared away. May I see Amitabha Buddha face to face and be reborn in the Land of Bliss. Once reborn in that land, may I fulfill this great vow right there. May all things be perfected without exception, bringing benefit and joy to all beings. In that Buddha's pure assembly, I will be born on a magnificent lotus flower. I will see the Tathagata of Infinite Light myself, and receive from him the prophecy of my enlightenment. Having received that prophecy, I will manifest countless hundreds of millions of forms. With vast wisdom and power reaching throughout the ten directions, I will benefit all beings everywhere. Even when empty space itself comes to an end, and beings, karma, and afflictions all cease — even if such things could ever be exhausted, my vow will never come to an end. Through this supreme practice of Universal Worthy, may all boundless merits be dedicated. May all beings drowning in suffering swiftly reach the Buddha-land of Infinite Light.

此文前後節略，斷章取義為重，十大願王導歸極樂故。問：「《華嚴經》中何獨取此？」荅：「此有二意：一者、取要如前說故；二者、正欲發明普賢乃華嚴長子，入不思議解脫境界，具無盡行門，而亦求生淨土，況餘人故。又〈行願品〉及〈梵行〉、〈淨行〉，俱有另刻全本流通世間故。」

> The preceding and following sections of this text have been abbreviated, with the emphasis placed on extracting the essential meaning out of context—this is because the King of Ten Great Vows leads all beings to rebirth in the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Question: "Within the Flower Garland Sutra, why select only this portion?" Answer: "There are two reasons for this. First, because it captures the essential points, as explained above. Second, because it specifically aims to reveal that Samantabhadra is the eldest son of the Flower Garland Sutra, one who enters the inconceivable realm of liberation and possesses infinite practices, and yet he too seeks rebirth in the Pure Land—how much more so should others. Furthermore, the Chapter on Conduct and Vows, as well as the Chapters on Brahma Conduct and Pure Conduct, all have separately printed complete editions circulating in the world."
