### 與金豈凡觀察

> To Jin Qifan, the Observer

南浦之遇，奇遇也，知執事必不虛我此遇，是遇非無待也。本分一事，執事已喜作用，衡未能窺其少分，唯翹首稱讚而已。雲居祖庭，執事決不視為分外事，第不識護念玅用，作何顯現？引領望之。佳稿珍玩數四未能深入，依衡廉纖之見湊成剩語，自愧瓦礫，何當以玷珠林？恐違大命，呈上冀批削，弗用可也。

> The encounter at Nanpu was a remarkable one. I know you will not dismiss it lightly, for it was not without purpose. As for the fundamental matter, I see you are already engaged with it through practical action. I myself have not yet grasped even a fraction of its depth, so I can only look up to you in admiration. Regarding the ancient seat of Yunju Monastery, I know you will not treat it as a matter outside your concern. Yet I wonder: through what form will your compassion and skillful means manifest there? I look forward to seeing it with eager anticipation. I have examined your fine manuscript several times but have not been able to fully penetrate its depths. Based on my shallow understanding, I have managed to string together some scattered observations. I am ashamed that my humble words, like mere pebbles, might tarnish the jewel garden of your work. However, I dare not defy your request, so I submit them for your revision and criticism. You may discard them freely.
