### 為夢文禪宿封龕眾居士請

> Enshrining the Coffin for Dream-Text Chan Master, Requested by Lay Practitioners

師至龕前，拈拄杖指龕云：「諸仁者！還知此老麼？設若不知，山僧不免為諸人饒舌一上。三十年來住此菴，蒲團一箇坐忘緣，如今拋卻塵寰去，定入西方上品蓮。然雖如是，此老猶是不唧溜，留者殼漏子，要山僧為伊掩卻。且道即今作麼生掩？」以杖封龕云：「雲龕箇裏閒消息，今古從來不許通。」拽杖便行。

> The master approached the shrine, raised his staff, and pointed to it, saying: "Do you all know this elder? If not, I will take the liberty of speaking a few words on his behalf. For thirty years he dwelt in this hut, sitting on a single cushion, forgetting all entanglements. Now he has cast aside the dust of the world and will surely ascend to the highest lotus in the Western Pure Land. Yet even so, this elder was not so sharp—he left behind this shell of a body, and I must cover it for him. But tell me, how shall I cover it now?" He sealed the shrine with his staff and said: "Within this cloud shrine lies a quiet truth—never from past to present has it been spoken aloud." Then, dragging his staff, he walked away.
