### 題心如楊先生像

裴晉公自題云：「其貌不揚，其才不良，一點真心，丹青莫狀。」余謂：「心如先生，其念動時，老胡過少林，身影落壁時也；其念靜時，誌公到金陵，兒聲出窠時也。若不向動靜時識其面目，而徒認繪影，是猶波斯入市，對面隔千山矣。」

> A lord once wrote of himself: "My face is plain, my talent poor; but one true heart—no brush can trace its form." I say: A mind like his—when thoughts stir, it is like Bodhidharma passing through Shaolin, his shadow falling on the wall. When thoughts rest, it is like Master Zhi heading to Jinling, hearing the cries of baby birds from the nest. If you only focus on the painted image and fail to recognize the true face behind movement and stillness, it is like a Persian entering the marketplace—mountains apart from the person right before his eyes.
