> In Praise of the Blood-Drawn Guanyin Image

兩渡南海，為訪菩薩。潮音岸邊，曾遶三匝。歸來咒靈，大悲叨怛。驀地嗽聲，戒雷震發。方知腳下，耳門通達。僧繇難描，如何血割？逗漏一時，呼梅止渴。寄語觀者，身須灑脫。打箇噴涕，會將虎捋。

> Crossing the Southern Sea twice to seek the Bodhisattva. By the shore of the Tidal Sound, I once circumambulated three times. Returning, I recited the Great Compassionate Dharani. Suddenly a cough—a thunderous precept-voice erupted. Only then did I realize that beneath my feet, the gate of hearing was open. Masterful painting cannot depict it—how can words capture it? For an instant, it was revealed: the cry of a cuckoo, a mirage to quench thirst. Let those who watch know: the body must be free and untethered. A sneeze, and you will seize the tiger's whiskers.
