### 普照寺

> Universal Illumination Temple

本佘山東菴，宋太平興國三年，聰道人。開山治平二年，賜額普照教院。寺有道人，塔下有月，軒旁有虎，樹亭相傳。道人在山時，有二虎隨侍道人死，虎亦死瘞之，塔旁踰年，生銀、杏、樹二僧隱闢亭，其間以虎樹名。

> This She Shan East Nunnery was established in the third year of the Taiping Xingguo reign of the Song Dynasty by the monk Cong. In the second year of Zhiping, it was granted the name Puzhao Teaching Institute by imperial decree. The monastery had a monk, beneath whose stupa there was a moon pavilion, and beside the pavilion there were tiger trees, which were traditionally said to be so named. When the monk was living on the mountain, two tigers accompanied him. After the monk passed away, the tigers also died and were buried beside the stupa. Over a year later, ginkgo trees grew there, and two monks built a pavilion in seclusion among them, naming it after the tigers and trees.
