> Form refers to what the eye-organ perceives as objects. Form is itself the Dharma Realm, complete with the Three Truths. Because all phenomena are interpenetrating in nature, mutually inclusive without obstruction—if all forms are one form, this is the Truth of Emptiness, where all phenomena are dissolved. If one form is all forms, this is the Truth of Conventionality, where all phenomena are established. If it is neither one nor all, and also both one and all, this is the Middle Truth, simultaneously negating and affirming—this is the Middle Way. Speaking exhaustively: not only does a single speck of form embody the Three Truths, but sound, smell, taste, touch, and mental objects—each of the five sense objects—are likewise so. When we speak of form, all phenomena are contained within form; there is no phenomenon apart from form. When we speak of fragrance, all phenomena are contained within fragrance; there is no phenomenon apart from fragrance. As the Commentary says: "Every form and every fragrance is none other than the Middle Way." This is precisely so.

> <note place="inline">The Dharma Realm means that all things are distinguished and defined by the Three Truths (emptiness, conventional existence, and the middle way). It represents the ultimate principle. "Dual negation and dual illumination" means: negation clears away deluded attachments, while illumination reveals the true nature. It simultaneously negates both the ultimate and conventional truths to avoid clinging to either, and simultaneously illuminates both truths to fully see their reality.</note>
