> First, the Tathagatas possess boundless, true, and eternal merits. This is the equal, ultimate reality of all things. This very nature is also called the Dharma Body, and it is known as the Nature Body.

> 2\. The Enjoyment Body has two aspects: First, the Self-Enjoyment Body: This refers to how the Tathagatas, through countless merits and wisdom, manifest boundless and true virtues, continually experiencing the profound joy of the Dharma. Second, the Other-Enjoyment Body: This refers to how the Tathagatas, through their equally attained wisdom, reveal a subtle and pure body of merits, dwelling in a realm of complete purity. For the benefit of bodhisattvas at the tenth stage, they display great spiritual powers, turn the wheel of the true Dharma, and allow them to partake in the joy of the Mahayana teachings.

> The ten grounds (or stages) are detailed in the second volume with full annotations.

> Third, the Thus-Come Ones, through their inconceivable spiritual power, manifest countless embodied forms suited to different beings. They dwell in both pure and impure lands, and for bodhisattvas who have not yet reached the ground of enlightenment, as well as for practitioners of the two lesser vehicles, they appear in accordance with each being's capacity, displaying miraculous powers and teaching the Dharma. In this way, they enable each to attain various benefits and joys. This is called the Transformation Body.
