> Master Zibo's Praise

師當末季運，吾宗何澹薄？獨起振臂呼，群雄爭逐角。禪河壅復流，魚龍正瀺灂；不是銕肩頭，千斤擔撲落。如人懸巨鐘，一線剛吊著；慧命苟扶傾，萬金軀可鑠。秪圖枝葉茂，那顧傷盤錯？賢哉紫柏翁，刀山成正覺。

> The Master arose in an age of decline— How faint and thin our lineage had grown! Alone he rose, arm raised, a call to rouse, And all the bold contenders vied for ground. The Chan stream, blocked, now flowed again; Fish and dragons stirred in its churning depths. Without an iron shoulder to bear the weight, The thousand-pound load would have crashed to earth. Like one who hangs a giant bell, Suspended by a single taut thread— If the life of wisdom tilted toward collapse, Even a body of gold could be smelted away. He sought only to see the branches flourish, Caring not for wounds among twisted roots— How noble, that Elder Purple Bamboo! Who walked the blade-mountain straight into awakening.
