> Traveling Through Yanyu with the Venerable Yiyi

水際未知幾許深，狀如象馬不浮沉。色隨雲日奪人目，影漾風濤豁我襟。為砥眾流橫峽口，欲超群峭湧江心。奇觀莫漫徒相負，聊擬當年杜甫吟。

> We could not see how deep the water was, But no elephant or horse could float on its surface. Its color shifts with clouds and sun, dazzling the eye, While reflections ripple with wind and waves, opening the heart. A barrier against many currents at the gorge’s mouth, A surge beyond towering cliffs in the river’s core. This wondrous view—do not simply let it pass, But feel it as Du Fu once felt, and sing.
