### 思泉、元錫二居士

> Si Quan and Yuan Xi, Two Lay Practitioners

紅塵鬧市，何如石上松間？百計營生，不若矢心念佛。汝既慕其所以然，吾亦與其所以然，因憶一陽來正好，寒風吹綻玉梅天。

> Amid the noise of worldly markets, what compare to pines upon the rocks? A hundred schemes for a living, none better than wholehearted mindfulness of Buddha. You seek to know the reason why; I too can share the reason why. Recall: at winter's height the sun's return is just, and bitter winds blow open jade-like plum blossoms in the sky.

書不讀，琴不彈，恬而慮，靜而觀，掀開鐵壁，撞倒銀山，全身獨露無遮蔽，長嘯一聲天地寬。寬，寬，從今那肯受人瞞？

> No books read, no zither played, In quietude I contemplate, in stillness I observe— Push through iron walls, Collapse the silver mountain. This entire body stands revealed, without concealment, A single long cry—the world expands. It expands, it expands— From now on, who could ever deceive me?
