> Zhaozhou Wu

兀兀崔巍萬仞蹲，白雲無路月無痕，曾無野鶴歸華表，卻有殘紅出洞門。去去碧峰煙渺漠，行行流水日潺湲，拼教身世埋空谷，不作逃名高士論。

> Towering and immense, a ten-thousand-\*ren\* peak crouches low, White clouds find no path, the moon leaves no trace. No wild crane ever returns to the ornate column, Yet faded red petals drift out from the cave's mouth. On and on, the emerald peaks veiled in misty haze, Step by step, the flowing stream murmurs through the day. I cast my body and life into the empty valley, Not seeking fame as a hermit, nor fleeing it in vain.

望得郎歸不見郎，恐因喜極易成狂，晨宵一處無疏戚，中冓明堂自有方。

> Watching for her beloved's return but he does not come, Fearing that joy may turn to madness too soon, Morning and night together, never far apart, Within the inner chambers and the hall, each in its proper place.
