爾時，一比丘如是言他比丘曰：「友！我等和尚之弟子，悉是阿羅漢。」彼心生悔恨……乃至……以此事白世尊。「諸比丘！汝存何心耶？」「世尊！我是有意妄語。」「比丘！非波羅夷，是偷蘭遮。」

> At that time, a monk said to another monk, "Friend, the disciples of our preceptor are all Arahants." Afterwards, he felt remorse... and so on. He reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Monks, what was your intention?" "Lord, I deliberately spoke a falsehood." "Monk, this offense is not one requiring expulsion; it is a grave offense (thullaccaya)."

爾時，一比丘如是言他比丘曰：「友！我等和尚之弟子，悉是大神力者、大威神力者。」彼心悔恨……「偷蘭遮。」

> At that time, a monk said to another monk, "Friend, all the disciples of our teacher have great spiritual powers and great majestic abilities." That monk felt remorse and guilt... "This is a grave offense."
