### 募修浴堂疏

> Fundraising for the Bathhouse Renovation

胞胎不入，枉眠解脫深坑；段食相滋，未免形山垢漏。塵自外來，垢由內發，眾生曠劫纏綿，既不洗塵，亦不洗水，佛子於焉證入？是以祖標知浴之序，教明浴僧之功，既識果因，須分皂自，但肯成褫出手，灼然頓越餘修。跋陀懸已證之圓通，山僧標指蹤之方便，通身澡雪，全副精神，盡滌舊污垢染，別開更始福基。架頭巾，床下履，教渠觸處現成；心中眼，格外禪，自有龍天證據。

> If you do not enter the womb, you remain trapped in the deceptive pit of liberation. If you continue to nourish yourself with solid food, you cannot escape the defilements of the physical body. Dust comes from the outside, while stains arise from within. Sentient beings have been entangled in this cycle for countless eons—neither washing away the dust nor washing away the water. How can a child of the Buddha realize the truth? Thus, the patriarch outlined the order of knowing how to bathe, and the teachings highlight the merit of bathing monks. Once you understand cause and effect, you must distinguish between the pure and the impure. Just be willing to cast off clinging, and you will clearly transcend other practices. Bhadra revealed the perfect penetration already realized; this mountain monk points out the expedient means of tracing the path. Cleansing the entire body, summoning full spirit and energy—thoroughly wash away old stains and defilements, and establish a new foundation of blessings. The head towel and the sandals under the bed—let them be ready at hand for you. The eye within the mind and the Chan beyond rules—the dragons and gods themselves will bear witness.
