### 復孩未方居士

> Reply to Householder Fang Haiwei

來諭謂此毛孔中虛無所有一切恩仇盡皆平等者似多生出一種知見不若普觀悉皆毛孔則無虛無所有之情存雖然直饒實證到此田地只到死了不得活未能轉身吐氣古人所謂正知見障卻動是要說道理說工夫說實落說虛無說恩怨說平等說毛孔說痛棒須是造到無功用道即不墮此不識居士以為何如。

> You mention that within these pores there is nothing at all, and all gratitude and enmity are completely equal. This seems to add an extra layer of intellectual understanding. It would be better to simply observe that all pores (and phenomena) are themselves pores, without holding onto any concept of "nothingness" or "emptiness." Even if one truly realizes this state, it's only "dying without coming back to life." One cannot yet "turn around and exhale." This is what the ancients called "the obstruction of correct views." The fault lies in wanting to speak of principles, to speak of practice, to seek solid results, or to speak of emptiness, gratitude and enmity, equality, pores—even this "striking with a heavy stick." You must reach the state of effortlessness and unconditioned action to avoid falling into this trap. I wonder what you, the layperson, think of this.
