「三界二十五有眾生，山僧都能一一從頭處分，惟不奈你一人何。不獨山僧不奈何，連你自家亦不奈何。於不可奈何處磨磨搓搓，忽然一下子奈得何了，你只管將老漢送入泥犁獄裏，交付阿旁使者。朝三千，夜八百，我終不怪你得恁麼無情。」

> To all living beings across the three realms and twenty-five states of existence, I, this mountain monk, can individually address and settle each one—except you alone, whom I cannot manage. It's not just that I can't handle you; even you yourself cannot handle you. In this place of utter unmanageability, rubbing and polishing away, if suddenly a way to manage emerges, feel free to send this old fellow straight into the hell of the mud and plow, handing me over to the messengers of Yama. Whether it's three thousand in the morning or eight hundred at night, I will never blame you for being so heartless.
