### 小溪十詠

> Ten Odes on the Little Stream

老來偶得天休，兀兀百無所求，此去石門不遠，笑看一帶狂流。

> In old age, I found unexpected rest, Sitting quietly, nothing left to seek. From here, Stone Gate is not far, Smiling, I watch the wild current flow.

適意直下便休，豈更區區外求？倘來黃金百鎰，爭如一枕溪流？

> When the heart is at ease, let go right now—why seek further through external means? Even if a hundred pieces of gold came your way, how could they compare to a single nap beside the murmuring stream?

怖頭狂走無休，狂歇夫復奚求？巖靜鳥啼花落，天空雲散水流。

> Terrified, the head races wildly without rest; when the madness ceases, what more could one seek? The cliff is still, birds sing, flowers fall; the sky is vast, clouds scatter, and water flows.

不是世間濁漢，亦非格外名流。寓目好山好水，任他呼馬呼牛。

> Neither a worldly man of coarse habits, nor an extraordinary celebrity. With eyes fixed on pleasant mountains and waters, letting others call me horse or ox as they please.

數寶終非己益，算沙徒自勞求。偶憩小溪一夢，頓忘五百春秋。

> Counting treasures never truly benefits oneself; Measuring sand only exhausts one’s own effort. A brief rest by a small stream, one dream— And suddenly, five hundred springs and autumns are forgotten.

濃淡扶疏蓋頂，潺湲濯足清流，無垢淨光發現，併吞萬億神洲。

選石溪邊坐臥，招雲嶺上優游，物外一團景況，誠難訴與高流。

蠅利無勞競取，蝸名奚足貪求，巢父聞聲洗耳，淵明一賦歸休。

幽鳥喚予出洞，懶雲移我歸休。一念機忘物化，聲光萬古同流。

曩是東林俗子，今為黃檗比丘，名相既無定準，不如盡付東流。
