### 克壯方居士負高才，秋試未遂，欲棄去，詩以慰之。

> Scholar Ke Zhuang, though gifted with great talent, failed the autumn examination. He wished to abandon his studies, so I wrote this poem to console him.

選官、選佛較疏親，肯賺丹霞見未真，及至見真燒卻佛，不如留取舊頭巾。

> Choosing office or choosing Buddha—which is closer, which is farther? Danzia was deceived, for his seeing was not yet true. But when he saw the truth, he burned the Buddha— Better to keep the old cloth headwrap instead.
