> Seven Wings Colophon to Master Xinhai's Prayer Beads

一集春雨，古澗流香，究其所自，費我商量。提起數珠，舉似亦易，欲理其由，與水何異？座有耆宿，胸自淵博，尋流得源，其書可讀。嗟彼世人，日用不知，今也百八，顆顆可思，或顯、或密，深入理窟，如雜寶叢，無所不攝。讀罷聯末，雨歇花芳，夢亦就醒，枯木欲狂。

> One round of spring rain, an ancient stream carries fragrance. Tracing its source—what effort it takes, pondering again and again. Lifting the prayer beads, presenting them is easy, But to seek their reason—how is that different from the water's flow? An elder sits among us, whose mind is vast and deep. Following the stream to its spring, the book he holds can be read. Alas, those who see the world day to day, yet know it not. Now these one hundred eight—each bead can be a thought. Whether manifest or hidden, deep within the heart of truth, Like a gathering of many jewels, it holds all within. Reading it to the last line, the rain ceases, flowers bloom. Even the dream awakens, and withered wood nearly leaps with life.
