### 郡侯楊公請啟

> Invitation by Lord Yang of the Commandery

伏以赤幟豎，臨江盛矣，曹源永潤；法席開，巴國儼然，鷲嶺長存。振獅音已有年，六通圓徹；駕車牛于無盡，四眾咸依。恭惟竺翁大和尚，不違本誓，應運閻浮，祖印高提，大闡五宗之旨；慈心廣運，頻施六度之仁。誠哉世出世間之能人，卓爾雙徑聚雲之克胄。藩等雖刀宦海，恒為國命以奔勞，幸蒞雲根，且得民心而趨善，金湯有自，莫透玄要之關，敬啟無緣，敢親棒喝之益，率民渴仰，佇候雷音，臨啟曷勝懽忭之至。

> Humbly we reflect: When the crimson banner is raised, the river's edge flourishes, and the source of Cao Creek ever flows. When the Dharma seat is opened, the land of Ba appears solemn, and Vulture Peak endures forever. The lion's roar has resounded for years, perfected in the six superknowledges; the ox-cart drives on without end, and the fourfold assembly relies upon it. We pay homage to the Great Master Zhu Weng, who does not abandon his original vow, answering the call in this world of Jambudvipa. Holding high the seal of the patriarchs, he broadly proclaims the meanings of the five schools; extending his compassionate mind, he constantly bestows the kindness of the six perfections. Truly, he is a capable one within and beyond the world, an outstanding heir to the Double Paths and Cloud Clusters. Though we humble officials are adrift in the sea of bureaucracy, always toiling for the nation's fate, we are fortunate to have set foot upon the root of the clouds, and have gained the people’s hearts, guiding them toward goodness. The vajra-like protector has its own source, yet we cannot penetrate the gate of the mystic essential. With great reverence, we offer this without personal connection, daring to approach the benefit of the stick and shout. We lead the people in thirst and hope, awaiting the thunderous voice. As we present this, our joy and reverence know no bounds.
