### 持準提咒願文

> Vow for Reciting the Cundi Mantra

智旭向以十二願，然香十二炷，散持準提咒一百二十萬。今束為三願，然香三炷，結壇持三十萬。一願毗尼實義，昭揭中天，教觀禪那，盡除流弊，靈山共睹儼然，淨土同期托質。二願修治大藏，昭佛祖之慧命，救贖眾生，普法界之慈緣。三願學無邊法門，窮正覺心源，竟法海涯底，折舉一廢餘之魔見，導萬有不齊之群機，讚戒讚聞，無人不秉真說，宏禪宏淨，無處不轉正輪。如此三願，不為自圖名利安樂、出生死、證菩提，普為法界眾生，同具如來十號，證涅槃四德，至究竟安隱處，超二種生死苦，圓四智菩提果，居上上寂光土。仰唯法界三寶，大準提王，速如所願。盡未來際，行普賢妙行，披地藏誓鎧，眾生不度盡，不取般涅槃。

> I once made twelve vows, burning twelve incense sticks and reciting the Zhunti mantra in a scattered practice one million two hundred thousand times. Now I condense them into three vows, burning three incense sticks and reciting the mantra three hundred thousand times from a formal practice altar. First vow: May the true meaning of the Vinaya shine clearly in the world; may the teachings, contemplation, and Chan eliminate all corrupt practices. May the assembly on Vulture Peak be seen once more, and may we be reborn together in the Pure Land. Second vow: May I compile and restore the great canon, illuminating the wisdom-life of the Buddhas and ancestors; may I rescue all beings, spreading the compassionate conditions of the Dharma realm. Third vow: May I study infinite Dharma doors, fathom the very source of enlightenment, reach the bottom of the Dharma ocean, and break the demonic view that clings to one method while discarding all others. May I guide the countless beings of diverse capacities, praising precepts and learning, so that no one fails to uphold the true teaching; promoting Chan and Pure Land, so that nowhere fails to turn the wheel of the true Dharma. These three vows are not for my own fame, profit, comfort, escape from birth and death, or attainment of enlightenment. They are universally for all beings in the Dharma realm, that we may together possess the ten titles of the Tathāgata, realize the four virtues of nirvāṇa, reach the ultimate place of peace, transcend the two kinds of suffering of birth and death, perfect the four wisdoms and the fruit of bodhi, and dwell in the supreme Land of Tranquil Light. I humbly rely on the Three Jewels of the Dharma realm and the Great King Zhunti. May my vows be swiftly fulfilled. For all future time, may I practice the wondrous deeds of Samantabhadra and wear the armor of Kṣitigarbha’s vow. Until all beings are saved, I will not enter final nirvāṇa.
