### 起咒文

> Curse-Starting Verses

歸命法界三寶，護咒神王。願展慈威，俯垂折攝。智旭向持種種神咒，柰障緣深厚，煩惱重濁，仍紆雜想，每犯威儀，克己省躬，實增慚懼。由是重生悲切，再展真誠，易慮洗心，懲前創後。然香七炷，供七伽陀。十一月初一日始，日誓持大佛頂首楞嚴咒七遍，復以次持滿諸咒。次香三炷，先供地藏真言，諸咒俟時次第供養，將此哀忱，必求加被。伏願戒根永淨，定慧圓明，廣化眾生，咸歸淨土。

> I take refuge in the Three Jewels of the Dharmadhātu and the Spirit Kings who protect the mantras. May you extend your compassionate might and look down upon me with acceptance and guidance. Although I, Zhixu, have long recited various sacred mantras, my karmic obstacles are profound and my afflictions are heavy and turbid. My thoughts remain scattered, and I often transgress the rules of deportment. Examining myself and reflecting on my faults, I truly feel shame and fear. Therefore, I have renewed my sincerity and devotion, changed my perspective, purified my heart, and learned from past mistakes to avoid future ones. I offer seven sticks of incense as an offering of seven verses of praise. Starting from the first day of the eleventh month, I vow to recite the Śūraṅgama Mantra seven times daily, and subsequently complete the recitation of other mantras in order. Next, I offer three sticks of incense, first as an offering to the Dhāraṇī of Kṣitigarbha, and in due time I will offer the other mantras in sequence. With this humble and earnest plea, I beseech your blessings and empowerment. I pray that my precepts may be eternally pure, my concentration and wisdom perfectly clear, and that I may extensively transform beings, leading them all to the Pure Land.
