### 法華綸貫自跋

> Colophon to the Outline of the Lotus Sutra

李白登黃鶴樓，見崔灝詩，遂閣筆，知不可勝也。智者大師親證法華三昧，光宅尚破，餘家可知。後人紛紛置喙，未具青蓮學識耳。諸友請余解《法華》，堅以此意辭之。適達際督梓梵文，欲撮全經大旨，以便初學。敬依玄文，節取大綱，名為《綸貫》，庶述古而不妄作云。

> When Li Bai ascended the Yellow Crane Tower and saw Cui Hao’s poem, he set down his brush, recognizing that he could not surpass it. Likewise, the Great Master Zhiyi personally realized the Lotus Samadhi, yet even he still found flaws in the interpretations of Guangzhai Monastery—let alone the others. Many later scholars have offered their own opinions, but none possess the insight of the “Blue Lotus” (Li Bai). My friends have asked me to explain the \*Lotus Sutra\*, but I have steadfastly declined for this very reason. Recently, Master Daji oversaw the printing of the Sanskrit edition, seeking to summarize the entire sutra’s essence for beginners. Therefore, respectfully following the profound texts, I have extracted key points and titled this work \*“A Concise Guide.”\* My aim is merely to transmit the ancient teachings, not to presumptuously create anything new.
