> Title: Self-Reflection Compilation

> In my youth, I studied the philosophy of Principle and often took it upon myself to refute Buddhism, seeing it as diverging from truth. As I grew a bit older, I began to see it as the same. After much practice, I came to realize it is both the same and different. Now I understand it is neither the same nor different, yet it remains permissible to speak of both sameness and difference. Master Zhou of Yong County is a man who’s explored Confucianism’s depths, then Daoism’s mysteries, next Chan Buddhism, and finally returned to Confucianism once more. In his quiet contemplation, he produced the work "Solo Introspection." What is unseen and unheard—that is what Confucians call the "Solo" \[the solitary self-center\], in which the great foundation and universal path reside. Mystery upon mystery—that is what Laozi calls the "Solo" \[the deep source\], in which the gateway to all wonders lies. Searching for the mind, we find it cannot be grasped—this is what Buddhists call the "Solo" \[the true nature\], in which the hundred realms and thousand suchnesses are fully present. These truly are intermingled yet not identical; they are alike yet not separate. Still, this is all said only for those who have yet to realize it. Once you truly realize it, what "one" or "different"? What "Solo" is not the Solo? When it is utterly still and unmoving, the Solo itself cannot be found. When it stirs and responds unobstructedly, even the most profound complexity remains perfectly ordered. At the very moment of stillness, ten thousand responses shine clearly. At the very moment of responding, the essence remains utterly still. After the whole world is returned to benevolence, there is no more fear of holding, losing, or letting go. Please, realize this for yourself.
