### 遺教解自跋

> Postscript to the Commentary on the Bequeathed Teachings

旭未出家，讀《遺教》，便知字字血淚。既獲剃染，靡或忘。所憾障深，廿餘年空無剋獲。非道人，又非白衣，方撫心極愧，而甫敦沈居士，固請解此經。嗟夫！予不能臻修世出世功德，徒以文言作諸天說法鳥邪？然一隙或明，弗忍終吝。藉此功德，破障策新，普與同患，回向西方，仍作迦陵頻伽，代彌陀廣宣法要可矣。

> Before I became a monk, when I read the \*Scripture on the Bequeathed Teachings\*, every word struck me like blood and tears. After I received the tonsure and took the robe, I never forgot it. My only regret is that, hindered by my deep karmic obstacles, I have achieved nothing meaningful in over twenty years—neither a true practitioner nor a layperson. My heart is filled with shame. Yet now, Venerable Shen, a lay follower, has earnestly asked me to explain this scripture. Alas! I cannot cultivate worldly or transcendent virtues; am I merely a bird that recites the Dharma with elegant words? Still, if even a single crack of light can shine forth, I cannot bear to keep it hidden. May this effort help break down obstacles and spur fresh resolve, sharing it with all who suffer, dedicating its merit to rebirth in the Western Pure Land. Let me, like the Kalavinka bird, serve as an instrument to broadly proclaim the essential teachings on behalf of Amitabha Buddha.
