> Inscription on the Vajra Net Chamber

問予何所矢，恆參梵網旨。坐斷百非源，方知唯此是。不離最初心，即是舍那髓。漸頓寧有歧，一多豈異軌。驗果愈明因，托事益顯理。莫謂浮囊微，堪作中流砥。諦觀心地門，應信室非邇。

> Responding to a question about my guiding principle, I constantly study the teachings of the Brahma Net Sutra. By cutting off the root of all wrong views (the hundred negations), one truly understands that only this reality exists. Without abandoning the initial aspiration, one grasps the very essence of Vairocana. How could gradual or sudden enlightenment be separate paths? How could the one and the many follow different principles? By examining the fruit, we understand the cause more clearly; by applying truth to worldly matters, we reveal the principle more vividly. Do not think a tiny floating bladder is insignificant—it can serve as a sturdy pillar in a river's current. Observe the ground of the mind with care, and believe that the enlightened state is not far away.
