### 祈雨詞

> Prayer for Rain

春苦雨，夏苦晴。一晴一雨，唯識所呈。識無主宰，隨業所縈。吁嗟業兮，同分相成。感此酷毒，民弗聊生。匪龍王之失德，豈天帝之弗情。由予德之不類兮，違誓鎧之深宏。今竭志而悔過兮，扣大士之宿盟。悲下民之莫拯兮，雲四合而雷轟。霈甘泉於大地兮，俾溪澗以淵泓。農欣穫於秋實兮，盜弭跡而安平。荷三寶之恩濟兮，漸去邪以歸正。并翹請於天龍兮，鑒予懷之懇誠。同輔弼於菩提兮，共遄造乎覺城。

> Spring brings bitter rains, summer harsh drought— one rain, one drought, all are displays of consciousness alone. Consciousness has no master; it is bound by karma. Alas, karma is formed through shared causes and conditions. It brings such cruel suffering that people despair of life. Associating me with Infertility, despite the dragon’s fault. Thus, you violated the Vow of Thunderous Purpose! No! But because of my unfitting virtue—I broke my oath armor broad and profound— Now at last I resolve. I repent, calling on the great Bodhisattva’s long-kept vow. I mourn that common people, unreachable, un-saveable—Clouds gather, thunder roars, suddenly springs cascade! The sweet rain pours on the great earth, filling streams and valleys. Farmers welcome autumn harvest; thieves vanish, peace prevails. By the grace of the Three Jewels, gradually we abandon wrong paths and return to right. I also reverently call on heavenly dragons: Witness the sincerity in my heart! Together, assist us on the Bodhi path, racing toward the City of Enlightenment.
