### 地藏慈尊像贊五首

> Five Eulogies to the Statue of the Compassionate Kṣitigarbha

同體大悲，無緣宏誓。千佛之祖，群生之裔。定入剎塵，珠懸三際。輪相破疑，辯才顯諦，欲令戒學重明，頂禮莫存分劑。

> Compassion that feels others' pain as its own, a boundless vow of great resolve. Ancestor to a thousand Buddhas, descendant to all living beings. Settling into the dust of countless worlds, a jewel suspended across past, present, and future. The turning wheel's mark dispels doubt, eloquent wisdom reveals the truth, desiring to make the discipline of precepts shine brightly once more. In paying homage, hold back no measure of devotion.

人但知其地獄救苦，不知其無處不現。人但知其臨終扶持，不知其無時不念。三部經王，二種妙觀，十輪重匡末法，三輪盡裂疑罥，此無量門中，第一神速法門。從來若逢不逢，似見非見，不肖子，一生極力舉揚，獨許歸信無閒。尚有一事懷疑，問取法身莫辨。

> People only know that she rescues from suffering in the hell realms, but do not realize she manifests everywhere. People only know that she supports at the moment of death, but do not realize she is mindful at all times. The three great sutras are the king of teachings, the two wondrous contemplations, the Ten-Wheel Sutra firmly upholds the Dharma in this latter age, the three wheels completely tear apart the net of doubt—this is the foremost, most swift and miraculous Dharma gate among the immeasurable approaches. Throughout history, even if one encounters it, it is as if not encountered; even if one sees it, it is as if not seen. This unworthy disciple has, with all his strength throughout his life, proclaimed and upheld it, solely entrusting himself to unwavering faith. Yet there remains one matter of doubt: if you seek to question the Dharmakaya, it cannot be distinguished.

眾生墮落地獄，皆由破戒重障。大士入獄救苦，獨現聲聞戒相。不解剖判法身，偏解拈提向上。此是無作妙色，眾生性具家當。握珠堅強戒身，地藏人人地藏。

> When beings fall into hell realms, it is always due to the heavy obstruction of breaking precepts. The great Bodhisattva enters the hells to relieve suffering, uniquely manifesting the precept-form of a Śrāvaka. Not analyzing or dissecting the Dharma-body, yet skillfully pointing directly to what is beyond. This is the wondrous form of non-action, the inherent treasure within the nature of all beings. Holding the pearl of steadfast precept-body, Kṣitigarbha is within each person—everyone is Kṣitigarbha.

五乘該盡孝慈心，最是醫王願力深。百草根莖皆不棄，贏來大地足知音。

> The five vehicles all encompass the heart of filial piety and compassion, Most profound is the Medicine King's vow and power. Not a single root or stem of the hundred herbs is discarded, Thus, the great earth is filled with those who truly understand.

涕出何須更著慚，館人相識恨長含。一哀偶遇橫流淚，處處臨喪欲脫驂。

> Tears flow—why should I still feel shame? The innkeeper I remember, long harboring regret. A sudden sorrow, meeting this flood of tears; Wherever there is mourning, I wish to unhitch my carriage and pay respects.
