去時春仲來春暮　真是春光馬上看祗有風流賢太守　千秋名在碧峯端

> Departing in mid-spring, returning as spring fades— Truly, spring’s light is seen from horseback. Only the graceful, wise governor remains— A name lasting a thousand autumns atop the azure peaks.

北瞻崑軸廣陵南　園倚虹橋鏡影看若使武夷徵故事　便當九曲自茲探

> To the north, gaze upon the broad ridges of Kunlun; to the south, the garden leans against the rainbow bridge, its reflection mirrored in the water. If one seeks the tales of Wuyi, then from here, the winding Nine Bends may be explored.

綠柳陰濃曲岸頭　緩移畫舸惠風柔青琅玕館凝神盼　誰道尋常竹有秋

> Green willows shade the winding shore, their shadows deep, A painted boat drifts slow where gentle breezes sweep. At the Emerald Bamboo Hall, my gaze grows still and long— Who says the common bamboo knows no autumn song?

侍衛銀牌賜老人　渴恩使奪亦情真可知半日行春舫　不為閒遊為省民

> The silver plaque bestowed upon the elderly by the guard, Their earnest plea for grace reveals a heart sincere. Know that this springtime boat sails but half a day, Not for idle pleasure, but to care for the people's welfare.

暖香明艷正含嘉　幾架雲棚護惜加不讀廬陵歐氏序　誰知天下有真花

> Warm and fragrant, bright and splendid, truly bearing beauty, Several frames of cloud-like trellises protect and cherish them. If one does not read Ouyang Xiu's preface from Luling, Who would know that in this world there are true flowers?

麗日輕風喜朗晴　麥田吐穗待秋成今朝功德山頭望　始覺吾心暢快生

> A bright sun and gentle breeze bring joyous clear skies, The wheat fields sprout ears, awaiting autumn's yield. Today, from the peak of merit, I gaze afar— And only now realize how freely my heart feels.

平阜池堂俯碧漣　已看荷葉出田田傳花命酒圍嘉客　高致當年在眼前

> By the tranquil pond, gazing at the clear ripples, I see lotus leaves already spreading wide and lush. Passing flowers, pouring wine, surrounded by cherished guests— The noble spirit of those past years is right before my eyes.

坐惟片刻未斜暉　問景聽稱馳驛飛短句八章聊紀事　足酬佳興可言歸

> Sitting a moment, the sun not yet slanting, I ask the scenery, hear it called a galloping courier's flight. Eight short verses, merely to record events, Enough to repay this fine mood, and so I can speak of returning.
