### 山亭野眺

程瓆建，在功德山半，下為大道，前臨保障河，左右映帶，為萬松亭、尺五樓。其後東望極目千里，如臯赤岸通州五山皆近，出履舄下亭，左歷小山西折而下。有小亭亭前為南樓樓前修竹叢桂蓊然鬱然，樓南為深竹廳，廳左土山蜿蜒，即與山亭接者也。山之後為荷池，臨池為草屋數椽，顏曰芰荷深處。

> Cheng Yu Jian stands halfway up Meritorious Mountain. Below it lies a grand road, with the Bǎo'àn River flowing before it, bordered on both sides by the Ten-Thousand-Pine Pavilion and the Five-Foot Tower. To its east, the view stretches endlessly for a thousand miles, where the Five Mountains of Rúgāo and Chì'àn are all within sight, seemingly at one's very feet beneath the pavilion. Passing to the left of the pavilion, one winds around the small hill and descends westward. There stands a small pavilion, before which is the Southern Tower, surrounded by tall bamboo and clustered osmanthus trees, lush and thriving. South of the tower lies the Deep Bamboo Hall, with a winding earthen hill to its left that connects directly to the mountain pavilion. Behind the mountain is a lotus pond, beside which stand several thatched cottages, bearing the inscription: "Deep Among the Water Caltrops and Lotuses."
