> Wang Bingde built his residence at the foot of Shugang Hill. Facing the river and opening to the west, there was a two-story building with five bays, and the northern wing was similarly arranged—this was called Chi Wu Lou (Five-Foot Tower). Below the tower, piled stones formed a rockery. Ancient osmanthus trees grew in dense clusters. Behind the rockery, a bamboo path led into a secluded chamber known as the Medicine Room. West of the tower, a long corridor extended to Yanshan Pavilion. Further west from the pavilion, after another turn, stood the Eighteen Peaks Hall. In front of the hall, a chamber was built on elevated ground, offering a vast, level view; the mountains across the river seemed close enough to be counted one by one.
